PLAY #90: THE SNOWBALL SENATE (FEB 28)

The US Senate.

Two WORKERS carefully place snowballs on chairs.

The last snowball is placed.

WORKER #1

That’s it?

WORKER #2

Looks good.

WORKER #1

And when…what do we?

WORKER #2 shrugs.

WORKER #1

You think this will make things better?

WORKER #2

Can’t make it worse. Not like the human Senators got much done.

WORKER #1

No.

The WORKERS look the snowballs.

WORKER #2

Alright, you coming?

WORKER #1

Sure.

The WORKERS leave.

SNOWBALLS stay on the Chairs, not moving.

They don’t do anything, because they’re snowballs, but maybe that’s okay, because they’re not trying to invade countries or incarcerate people or gut the EPA or gut the welfare system or bring in a snowball to the Senate as proof that climate change isn’t happening, which is what Jim Inhofe, Chair of the Environment and Public Works Committee did a couple of days ago, which is why maybe snowballs should replace Senators.
